Efficiency is not a feature that comes with Windows. If you wish to open certain documents or run a program, you may have to navigate through countless folders or overpopulate your desktop with shortcuts. Fortunately, third party applications can provide you with the feature you need to make your work faster and easier. In this case, you can use Gizmo Central to access any item or location on your hard, synchronize files, mount images and more, while keeping your desktop clean.

The software is free and it does not take long to install it. It comes with various features, but you can decide which ones to install, during the setup process. You don't have to meet any special requirements in order to run this program and you can use it on any modern day Windows platform.

While working in the background, Gizmo Central allows you to access files, folders, programs, web sites and more, through shortcuts, which you can place on various toolbars, all around the screen. You can access a sample toolbar, in the lower right corner of the screen, by clicking the software's system tray icon. Right clicking the icon will reveal a series of options, for creating new shortcuts, creating or burning virtual drives or displaying the Gizmo Manager, where you can manage your toolbars, virtual drives, databases and more.

There are many possibilities when it comes to adding new items on a toolbar. You can place launchers, for any application, documents, folders or URLs, define tasks, add query analyzers, image mounters or scripts, create groups or dividers and more. A wizard will guide you with clear instructions, making the procedure easy and straightforward. In certain cases, the wizard will present a list of items, which spares you from browsing for specific files in your local folders. For example, if you wish to create an application launcher, you will find a list with all your installed applications. Of course, you still have the option of browsing for an executable file yourself.

Although it can make your work easier, the sample toolbar represents only a fraction of Gizmo Central's capabilities. You may create additional toolbars and place them on the screen's edges, corners or in the center. When creating a toolbar, you can opt for a slab toolbar, which can be docked with the screen's edges or you can opt for a carousel toolbar, which has a more interesting design. You can make numerous adjustments, to individual toolbars, on the Gizmo Manager. The software allows you to choose show and hide animations and effects, create hotkeys and much more.
